Company Overview:
IBC Story
Formed in 1992,
IBC is recognized as one of the first biotech companies to root
itself in Arizona. President and Founder Robert Green saw it as an
opportunity. “It was a chance for us to utilize the resources of a
community with a first-class research institution (the University
of Arizona) that wanted to become a biotech hub.” And that is
exactly what he did. In 1996, after several years of conducting
business from his garage and using laboratory connections at
several universities, Green moved IBC into the newly established U
of A Technology Park. It was comfortable space; a few
administrative offices and one main laboratory perfect for a
budding venture that, at the time, was focused on conducting
research, development, manufacturing, and analysis of biomolecules
for the pharmaceutical and diagnostic industries.
To ensure that
these organic compounds met the highest quality standards,
exceptional analytical capabilities were crucial, thus leading to
the creation of the IBC Labs division. After a few years, the
analytical business began to expand beyond biomolecules. Word got
out about our testing capabilities and we started receiving a
multitude of products; among them
nutritional supplements, which at
the time, was a budding new industry. We applied our high-tech
analytical skills and equipment (mostly GCs and HPLCs) to these
products and began to make a name for ourselves in the industry.
Over time we acquired new
instrumentation and expertise and
that guided us to providing analytical support for
pharmaceutical development.
After 8 years at
the Tech Park the time came to move to larger quarters. In 2004 we
moved into our custom built facility in Oro Valley. Today,
analytical and developmental services are IBC’s primary focus;
however, the IBC Organics division is still providing custom
synthesis just like it did in the beginning.
Throughout the
years we have had a mission: assemble a great staff, acquire a
wide-range of equipment, and establish core values promoting the
best client service in the industry. We knew that if he could
achieve these goals, success would follow. We were right.
